Melamine Dinnerware Quality Control and Compliance
Quality is built into the production specification, not added at final inspection. As a melamine dinnerware manufacturer in China, Yaxing applies quality control from incoming materials through molding, decal application, finishing, packing and outgoing inspection.
For importers, retail chains and brand owners, we can also coordinate project-specific inspection requirements and provide available test or audit documents relevant to the product and destination market.
Incoming Material Control
Raw-material suppliers are screened, and incoming batches are checked before release to production. Materials are identified and stored by item and batch to support traceability and first-in, first-out management.
Where supplier inspection information or supporting documents are required, these are reviewed as part of the incoming-material process.
In-Process Quality Checks
Production standards define the requirements for molding and decoration, including the process conditions that apply to the product. Checks are carried out at key stages so that issues can be corrected before they move further through production.
The control points include:
- Incoming-material inspection
- Molding inspection
- Decal application checks
- Grinding and edge-finishing inspection
- Finished-product inspection
- Packing and outgoing inspection
Production areas also follow sanitation, clothing and protective-equipment requirements. Pest-control measures form part of factory management.
Finished-Product and Pre-Shipment Inspection
Completed goods are checked against the approved sample and written order specification. Depending on the product and program, inspection may cover:
- Appearance and surface finish
- Color and decal placement
- Dimensions and product details
- Set composition and quantity
- Retail or bulk packing
- Labels, carton marks and shipping identification
Buyer-specific AQL levels, defect classifications, retained samples and third-party inspection arrangements can be agreed before production. When an independent inspection company is required, the scope, timing and responsibility for cost should be confirmed with the order.
Use our melamine tableware quality inspection checklist to prepare sample, appearance, dimension, decal, packing and pre-shipment criteria.
Food-Contact Testing Support
Test requirements depend on the material, decoration, product and destination market. Available reports can be reviewed against the actual item being purchased, and new testing can be arranged when an existing report does not cover the project.
Products are tested to applicable U.S. FDA food-contact requirements and applicable California Proposition 65 requirements. For Europe, they are tested to Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011, as amended, and applicable LFGB requirements for the German market.
Our 100% melamine is tested to the heavy metal and primary aromatic amine limits of Regulation (EU) 2020/1245 — all not detected (SGS, 2025). BPA-free: tested for bisphenols including BPA by SGS — not detected.
Current reports from SGS and TÜV SÜD are summarized on our certificates and test reports page. Compliance wording follows the scope and result of each report rather than a blanket claim.
Buyers may request available reports before order confirmation. Please identify the destination country, product and decoration so we can check which documents apply.

Customer Factory Audits

A compliance pack with the audit summaries and test reports can be sent to buyers on request. You can also view our certificates, audits and test reports.
Quality Documents for Buyers
Depending on the project and the records available, your order file may include:
- Current factory certificates or audit information
- Applicable product test reports
- Approved samples and product specifications
- Artwork and color approvals
- Inspection requirements
- Packing specifications
- Third-party inspection instructions
Confirming these records before production gives both teams a clear reference for bulk manufacturing and repeat orders.
Quality Control for Custom and Wholesale Orders
Inspection plans should reflect the product and buying program. A new mold, complex decal, retail set or mixed wholesale order may require different checkpoints from a standard single-item order.
Our teams review the specification, sample and packing requirements before production. For custom development, see our custom melamine dinnerware process. For bulk sourcing, visit wholesale melamine dinnerware.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can we review test reports before placing an order?
Yes. Available reports can be reviewed against the selected product and destination market. A new test may be needed if the material, decoration or buyer specification falls outside an existing report.
Can we arrange our own pre-shipment inspection?
Yes. A buyer-appointed third party can inspect the order. The inspection standard, booking process, timing and cost responsibility should be agreed before production.
Can buyers audit or visit the factory?
Yes. Factory visits and remote factory reviews can be arranged with the sales team, subject to production schedules and confidentiality requirements.
Are ISO 9001:2015, BSCI and SMETA current?
Yes. Yaxing is ISO 9001:2015 certified and has completed amfori BSCI and SMETA audits. The amfori BSCI audit is valid through August 14, 2027. Current documents can be requested for supplier qualification.
