Melamine dinner plates are available in a range of sizes, colors and piece weights. They are lighter than ceramic, shatter-resistant and have low thermal conductivity, so hot food does not make the plate uncomfortable to hold. 100% melamine plates are dishwasher safe, including commercial dishwashers, and are widely used in cafeterias and casual restaurants.

Choosing the Right Product Specification
Dinner-plate selection normally starts with diameter, rim profile, usable food area and target piece weight. The range can support everyday retail dinnerware, casual restaurant service, outdoor dining and coordinated private-label collections. Existing molds shorten development time, while a new shape can be reviewed when the expected order volume supports dedicated tooling.
Retail and Foodservice Applications
Common programs include supermarket open stock, boxed place settings, restaurant dinner plates, resort and patio tableware, and coordinated plate-and-bowl assortments. Buyers should confirm whether the priority is lighter retail handling, a heavier ceramic-look presentation or a specification balanced between cost and durability.
OEM, Materials and Private-Label Options
Choose 30% MELAMINE or 100% MELAMINE according to the approved specification. Options include custom base colors, decal artwork, logos, barcodes, color cards, paper bands, color boxes and display packaging. Microwave use is not recommended. Samples are prepared for approval before mass production so that color, artwork placement, weight and packing can be confirmed together.
The standard MOQ is 3,000 pieces per SKU. Lower minimums and mixed designs may be reviewed only for a first order and confirmed case by case. Sample development normally takes about 10 days after the specification and artwork are confirmed. Standard production lead time is approximately 45–60 days after the deposit is received and the sample is approved; the final schedule depends on the approved specification, order quantity, decoration and packaging requirements. FOB is standard; CIF and other Incoterms can be discussed.
Food-grade, BPA-free and break-resistant options are available. Products can be tested to comply with applicable U.S. FDA food-contact requirements, California Proposition 65 requirements, Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011, as amended, and applicable LFGB/BfR food-contact requirements.
